Luis Urias (hamstring) expects to be one hundred percent healthy by the start of spring training.
The second baseman suffered a severe hamstring injury while trying to beat out an infield single on September 11th. The injury not only ended his season early but it also prevented him from playing winter ball. He made his major league debut and lasted just 12 games before getting hurt. He has played primarily second base in the minors but wants to be given a chance to compete for the starting job at shortstop to replace Freddy Galvis, who is likely to depart in free agency. He is ranked among the Padres' top four prospects by both Baseball America and MLB Pipeline. Jan 12 - 2:20 PM
