Phil Jackson has agreed to step down as the Knicks' president of basketball operations.
Jackson definitely hit a home run when he drafted Kristaps Porzingis No. 4 overall in the 2015 NBA draft, but that's pretty much been the extent of his accomplishments during his three years at the helm of the Knicks' front office. He alienated stars like Carmelo Anthony and Porzingis, signed a washed up Joakim Noah to a four-year deal worth $72 million and went with Frank Ntilikina over Dennis Smith Jr. in the 2017 NBA draft due to his infatuation with the triangle offense. With Jackson getting the boot, there's a better chance Melo will remain a Knick, and GM Steve Mills will guide the team during free agency. It's unclear if Raptors President of Basketball operations Masai Ujiri, who is New York's reported preference to replace Jackson, has any interest in joining the Knicks.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Knicks owner James Dolan is debating whether or not to fire President of Basketball Operation Phil Jackson.
No final decision has been made as of Tuesday night, but it sounds like he's as good as gone and could be fired on Wednesday morning. Wojnarowski adds that Dolan "has become increasingly concerned about Jackson’s fitness for the job and the long-term prospects of success for the franchise." It's hardly a surprise after Jackson all but told Carmelo Anthony he wants him to leave New York, but the situation hit an all-time low when Jackson made Kristaps Porzingis, a 21-year-old franchise cornerstone, available in trade talks. Jackson has two years and $24 million left on his deal, so Dolan will have to reach into his pockets to pay him off.

On ESPN's Outside the Lines, Jay Williams said a top-15 prospect in this draft told him Knicks president Phil Jackson was falling in and out of sleep during a workout.
So he cares more about exit interviews than entrance interviews? Jokes aside, the Knicks couldn't be making a worse case to attract free agents. From throwing their franchise player under the bus to not trying to fix any communication issues with their budding star to arresting a former fan favorite, the past 12 months have been a total disaster. How's it goink?

The Knicks have spoken to the Blazers about one of Portland's three first-round picks, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.
The Blazers have the 15th, 20th and 26th picks, but they also went on a spending spree last summer and are tight on cap space. Even if it's just to get Meyers Leonard's contract off their books, the Blazers may be willing to unload their 26th pick. Assuming the Knicks take a point guard at No. 8, they may go with a forward on their next pick.

Emmanuel Mudiay (concussion) will not play Wednesday vs. the Cavs.
Mudiay had a chance for a fresh start in New York, but failed to deliver. He appeared in 22 games for the Knicks, averaging 8.8 points, 3.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 22.9 minutes. He shot just 36.8 percent from the floor, including a putrid 19.6 percent from downtown, and 68.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Ron Baker (right shoulder) underwent successful Arthroscopic Shoulder Stabilization surgery on Wednesday.
The good news is he is expected to be ready for camp. With Baker out and the Knicks now out of the playoff mix, we may see more Frank Ntilikina.

Courtney Lee
Sidelined
Courtney Lee (ankle) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Cavs.
Lee tweaked his foot on the final shot of Monday's game, and he wasn't able to get through his pregame routine without issue, so he'll miss this meaningless game for New York. Michael Beasley, Frank Ntilikina, and Damyean Dotson will see an uptick in value with Lee out.

Sidelined
Tim Hardaway Jr. (ankle) and Enes Kanter (back) will not suit up for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Cavs.
Why would they? Trey Burke, Frank Ntilikina and Kyle O'Quinn figure to earn another start tonight, and all those guys are on the radar as potential streamers. THJ had a solid, although injury-riddled season in New York, compiling averages of 17.5 points, 2.7 dimes, 2.3 triples, 1.1 steals and 1.6 turnovers per game on 42.1% shooting from the field and 81.6% from the stripe.

Troy Williams
Sidelined
Troy Williams suffered a fractured jaw in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Detroit and will miss the rest of the season.
Williams impressed the Knicks enough to get a two-year deal, though he only has a partial guarantee for next season. In 17 appearances for the Knicks, Williams averaged 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.6 triples. With Williams out, the Knicks will be able to get a look at Damyean Dotson.

Kristaps Porzingis
Sidelined
Kristaps Porzingis (knee surgery) could miss the entire 2018-19 season according to Knicks owner James Dolan.
"I’ve been told everything from December to him being out for the season, so I don’t know what to expect on that," Dolan said. "But we can’t just sit on our a-- while he’s away. We need to develop a team and then integrate him into it when he comes back." Porzingis tore his ACL back in February and there's no word of any setbacks, so it's unclear why Dolan is being so pessimistic. KP recently said he was hopeful to be ready for the start of the 2018-19 season, so take Dolan's comments with a grain of salt for now.

Sidelined
Joakim Noah is expected to remain away from the Knicks for the rest of the 2017-18 season, according to Ian Begley of ESPN.
With Noah not agreeing to a buyout by March 1st, it is extremely unlikely he will agree to one before the end of this season. Thus, both sides will reaccess their options this offseason. If New York fires Jeff Hornecek this summer, there is a greater likelihood that Noah would return for the 2018-19 campaign. Either way, Noah has no fantasy value over the next six weeks.
