Kenyon Martin did not go through practice on Wednesday because he's dealing with an "apparent new wrist injury," a source told the New York Post.
Martin's protective wrist wear is "precautionary" and the "sore wrist isn't considered extensive," but it's not clear exactly what the injury actually is. He wasn't on the injury report prior to Thursday's Game 5, so we're guessing this is nothing serious. Mike Woodson acknowledged that Martin is "tough" and is expected to play through it.

Martin was just dealing with a little bug. Not only is he ready to suit up, but he'll start for the first time in these playoffs as coach Mike Woodson goes big. Pablo Prigioni is coming off the bench.

Martin's bug was not believed to be severe, so it's a good sign that he went through shootaround. He's unlikely to be at full strength, but it would be surprising if he didn't play, especially since he said he planned to play at shootaround. Officially, he's a game-time decision.

Kenyon Martin's (illness) bug is not severe, according to Mike Woodson.
It seems like Martin's absence is more precautionary than anything else, and it would be a real surprise to see him be forced out of a critical Game 4 for the Knicks. "We've just got to be careful there," Woodson said.

An MRI revealed that Carmelo Anthony has a small tear in his left shoulder.
The plan for Anthony will be to let the injury heal on its own for three or four weeks, then if there is no improvement, surgery will become an option. Melo's shooting numbers were awful in the postseason, making just 29.8 percent from the field. There's no correlation to his shoulder causing this issue, but it does make some sense since he was visibly bothered by the issue over the past month. Regardless of the treatment, Anthony should be ready for the 2013-14 opener.
