Jaguars re-signed C Brad Meester to a one-year contract.
Meester has been the Jaguars' center since 2000, missing just 15 games in 13 years, and none since 2008. His play has slipped considerably in recent seasons, however. The Jags could be on the lookout for his heir apparent in the middle rounds of the draft.

Free agent C Brad Meester will reportedly retire if the Jags' "price isn't right."
Meester will turn 36 in March and is trying to leverage his way into a final payday on a one-year deal. The coaching staff reportedly wants him back "from a stability and leadership standpoint." Meester has started 193 games for the Jags over his 13 NFL seasons.

The Jaguars are "still in discussions" with free agent C Brad Meester.
Meester is on the record as hoping to return for a 14th NFL season, but it's unclear if he'd consider playing anywhere other than Jacksonville. One of the best players in Jaguars history, Meester is still durable, but his play has slipped considerably. It's not a guarantee he'll be back.

Jaguars C Brad Meester says he is interested in playing a 13th season in 2013.
Meester's contract is up after the year, and he turns 36 in March. "I feel as good as I have in quite a while," he insisted. "I would love to be back." Meester has spent his entire career with the Jaguars, playing mostly center and some guard. Unfortunately, his on-field play suggests he has little left.

Undrafted Jaguars QB Jordan Rodgers will be sidelined until training camp after undergoing sports-hernia surgery.
Aaron's younger brother, Rodgers is competing with fellow undrafted QB Matt Scott for No. 3 duties. This gives the more-talented Scott another leg up in a competition the Jaguars would likely prefer him to win.

Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) said his goal is to resume full-scale workouts in the month ahead of training camp.
Jones-Drew didn't practice with the Jags during Monday's OTAs. Instead, he ran 30-yard dashes at three-quarters speed. "Lately, it's been one day on, a day off, two days on, a day off — it's part of the process," he said. "I'm closer than I think. I just want to take my time and make sure we do it the right way." Rehab from Lisfranc surgery is nothing to be brushed off lightly. We'll be watching MJD's progress closely as he enters a contract year.

Coach Gus Bradley said he's giving suspended WR Justin Blackmon a clean slate.
Blackmon has two DUI arrests and a four-game substance-abuse violation on his resume since 2010. But none of that occurred while Bradley was in contact with the 2012 No. 5 overall pick. The pair is having regular conversations as Blackmon tries to stabilize his life and career. "He's never done anything wrong with me. It'd be different if I was talking to him and I didn't feel like we were connecting at all. I do feel a connection," Bradley said.

During his first official practice with the Jaguars, Brackett sustained a serious knee injury. The pass-catching tight end will need to regain full speed and burst before he can hope for a 2013 roster spot. The Jags re-signed Colin Cloherty to take Brackett's roster spot.
