Cardinals coach Bruce Arians calls Carson Palmer "as pretty a deep-ball thrower as I've ever seen."
It's safe to say Arians believes Palmer still has the arm strength to succeed in his vertically-minded passing attack. Thanks to an elbow injury, Palmer's drive and velocity were waning near the end of his time in Cincinnati, but his arm appeared much stronger in Oakland. He'll be asked to uncork no shortage of deep balls in the desert.

Cardinals GM Steve Keim revealed that he'd been monitoring Carson Palmer's status with the Raiders since January, before trading for Palmer on April 2.
"We started doing our due diligence on Carson in January," Keim said. "And with our new video system, I was able to cut up every one of his passing plays for the last three seasons. I came away very, very pleasantly surprised. ... I saw that Carson still has the zing and can still make all the throws. That’s huge, especially with what Bruce (Arians) wants out of his quarterback."

Carson Palmer's three-year, $26 million contract in Arizona contains $10 million guaranteed and a $6 million signing bonus.
It'll likely reduce to a two-year, $16 million contract because year three, which carries a $10 million non-guaranteed base salary, will void if Palmer is on Arizona's roster five days after the Super Bowl next year. Only the $6 million signing bonus, Palmer's $2 million base salary in 2013, and $2 million of Palmer's $8 million salary in 2014 are fully guaranteed. The Cards could cut Palmer next offseason and be on the hook for "only" $10 million.

Carson Palmer insists he's "not concerned at all" about the Cardinals' offensive line.
"If you look at it, you look at all the injuries, that's a freak thing," he said of the line's disastrous 2012 performance. "When you get that many guys hurt at one position group, that just doesn't happen year after year after year. … With the coaching they're going to get from the guys we have on this staff, we'll get better at that position." The Cards' line was better down the stretch, but still has question marks at four of five spots. Palmer should pray the Birds take a lineman at No. 7 overall.

The blocking tight end is sitting out OTAs, but sounds like he'll be ready for training camp. He's likely recovering from a scope. A seven-year veteran, King graded out as the third-worst tight end in the league in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season.
