4/26/2013: Signed a seven-year, $130.75 million contract. The deal contains $54 million guaranteed -- $35 million signing bonus and each of Rodgers' 2014 and 2015 roster bonuses. Rodgers is eligible for annual $500,000 workout bonuses throughout the contract's life. 2013: $4.5 million, 2014: $900,000 (+ $9.5 million roster bonus), 2015: $1 million (+ $9.5 million roster bonus + $600,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2016: $11.5 million (+ $600,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2017: $12.55 million (+ $600,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2018: $19.8 million (+ $600,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2019: $20 million, 2020: Free Agent

Aaron Rodgers' five-year extension includes a $35 million signing bonus, and $54 million in total guarantees.
As previously reported, Rodgers will bring home $40 million in 2013, though he'll count just $12 million against the cap. The $54 million guarantee is $2 million more than Joe Flacco received. Rodgers' entire seven-year deal includes $62.5 million guaranteed. His cap number will never exceed $21.1 million. It's a contract both sides can be very happy about.

Packers signed QB Aaron Rodgers to a five-year, $110 million extension through 2019.
The front-loaded deal pays Rodgers $40 million in year one, explaining why GM Ted Thompson was so conservative with his 2013 cap. It's a savvy deal by Thompson, but we've come to expect nothing less. Rodgers is now under control through his age-35 season. Theoretically, he can hit free agency in 2020 at age 36. Because Rodgers had two relatively cheap years remaining on his old deal, the new contract is worth $130.75 million over seven seasons, for an annual average of $18.68 million; Joe Flacco received an annual average of $20.1 million. The Rodgers deal is widely being pumped up as the richest in NFL history, but in actuality it's very much not. Another steal by Thompson.

Club president Mark Murphy indicated that the Packers' forthcoming extension with Aaron Rodgers may not be as imminent as media reports suggest.
The deal is going to happen, but perhaps not until after the draft. "It’s a priority for the organization," Murphy said. "I’ve kept in touch and we’re hopeful it will be soon, but these things have a life of their own sometimes." Rodgers' new deal is expected to be worth roughly $100 million over four years.

Aaron Rodgers has no plans to hold out of Packers offseason workouts if the sides have yet to reach a new deal.
Most signs suggest the sides will hammer out an extension before the draft, but big-money negotiations have a way of bogging down when they're seemingly on the verge of completion. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier Wednesday that the deal is expected to pay Rodgers over $25 million per season.
