Titans RE Kamerion Wimbley destroyed the Cardinals in Thursday night's third preseason game, racking up two sacks and three tackles in just over two quarters of action.
He had countless pressures that didn't qualify as "sacks," tormenting John Skelton. Wimbley has played primarily linebacker to this point in his career, so there were some questions about his position switch to right defensive end. While he was admittedly squaring off with a brutal Arizona pass protection group, Wimbley was nothing short of dominant in the regular season tuneup.

Titans RE Kamerion Wimbley says he received interest from the Patriots, Bengals, Seahawks, and Packers before signing with Tennessee.
Appearing on Sirius/XM NFL Radio, Wimbley said the Bengals and Seahawks were his most ardent suitors outside of Tennessee. Of the teams pursuing Wimbley, the Titans had the most anemic pass rush in 2011, and were surely the most desperate after their flirtation with Peyton Manning cost them a shot at DE Mario Williams.

Titans signed DE Kamerion Wimbley to a five-year, $35 million contract.
The deal includes $13.5 million guaranteed. Wimbley was already guaranteed $6.5 million following his release from the Raiders. He's an excellent consolation prize for a team that missed out on Mario Williams as it got bogged down in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, and should greatly improve a pass rush that notched just 28 sacks in 2011. That was good for 31st in the NFL. Wimbley has essentially been a 3-4 outside linebacker for most of his career, but he will play right end in Tennessee's 4-3 defense. He's notched at least 6.5 sacks each of the past three seasons. The Titans have a lot of pass-rush potential, with Derrick Morgan a full year removed from ACL surgery on the left end and the explosive, high-motor Wimbley rushing off the weak side.

Adam Caplan of thesidelineview.com reports free agent OLB Kamerion Wimbley and the Titans are "close" to a five-year deal.
Negotiations will pick up again Tuesday morning. The highest-impact free agent left on the market, Wimbley would make for a nice consolation prize after the Titans lost out on Mario Williams while preoccupied with Peyton Manning. A 28-year-old pass rusher with 16 sacks over the past two seasons, Wimbley would slot in at defensive end in the Titans' 4-3 defense.

Jake Locker reiterated Tuesday that his surgically-repaired shoulder feels "normal."
"I don't know a whole lot about it as far as if it's supposed to be better or stronger, but I can tell you it feels better and just the same as it did before I got hurt," Locker said. "I haven't had any problems with it. I haven't had any moments with it where, I'm like, 'Aw, man, I can feel that,' or 'it slipped a little bit.' It feels great. It feels normal and I'm excited about that." Locker isn't gushing the way a healed athlete usually does, but it doesn't appear there's any reason for concern. Locker still hasn't been cleared for contact, but is expected to be before camp.

Mariani's brutal leg break last preseason was the same injury suffered by Louisville's Kevin Ware in the Elite Eight. Mariani is just three years removed from a Pro Bowl campaign as a returner, but won't be guaranteed a roster spot after the Titans signed Kevin Walter and re-upped Darius Reynaud.
