3/4/2012: Signed a four-year, $31 million contract. The deal contains $17 million guaranteed, including a $6 milling signing bonus and all of Lynch's first- and second-year base salaries. Marshawn Lynch's motion to suppress evidence hearing stemming from his 2012 DUI has been delayed until July 5.
The motion was originally expected to be heard yesterday and a jury trial was scheduled for June 21. Now the entire case has been pushed back and there's no trial date set, making it possible that this bleeds into training camp. It creates a hairy situation for fantasy owners, as Lynch could be facing a suspension from the league if he's found guilty. Robert Turbin and Christine Michael are taking the reps at OTAs this week as Lynch trains on his own.

Marshawn Lynch did not report for the start of Seahawks OTAs Monday.
Coach Pete Carroll expressed no concern, reiterating that the workouts are "voluntary," even if attendance is strongly encouraged. Lynch is likely just training for the season on his own. Lynch does not have a bone to pick about his contract. He is owed a $7 million base salary and all the money is guaranteed.

Marshawn Lynch's DUI case is scheduled to go to jury trial on June 21.
Lynch was arrested way back on July 14 of 2012. An officer allegedly observed him weaving in and out of lanes, nearly hitting two other vehicles. Lynch submitted to a breathalyzer test, which yielded a BAC over California's 0.08 legal limit. He has pleaded not guilty and the court will hear a motion to dismiss the case on May 22. It's impossible to project any league discipline when we don't know how the case will shake out, but this could be another reason the Seahawks used a second-round pick on Texas A&M RB Christine Michael.

Marshawn Lynch has a $5.5M base salary and $2M roster bonus due in 2015.
This could shed a little light on the Seahawks' surprise pick of talented RB Christine Michael in the second round. Lynch won't be threatened this season and perhaps not next, but Dynasty owners should note that ESPN's Mike Sando expects the team to move on come 2015. Lynch will be 29 and likely unaffordable for a team that will be trying to fit the likes of Russell Wilson, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, Percy Harvin, and Russell Okung under the salary cap.

Percy Harvin said he'll play "a little bit" of running back this season.
During four seasons with the Vikings, Harvin averaged 1.9 carries per game. If that number rises in Seattle, it won't be by much. Although Harvin is more than capable of running the read option with Russell Wilson, the Seahawks need him in the slot. They're stacked at running back with Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin and rookie Christine Michael.

The Seattle Times doesn't envision the Seahawks cutting TE Zach Miller.
We don't, either. Miller has a mammoth cap number for 2013 as he's due a $6.8 million salary and a $3 million roster bonus, but he was finally starting to come on in the latter stages of the 2012 season, capping it off with an eight-catch, 142-yard, one-score Divisional Round playoff game outburst against the Falcons. He should be in line for a bigger role on offense this coming season.
