9/16/2011: Signed a six-year, $49.35 million contract. The deal contains $22 million guaranteed, including a $10 million signing bonus. $11 million of Flowers' guaranteed money is guaranteed for both skill and injury, although the other $11 million is guaranteed solely for injury. Another $1.25 million is available through escalators applicable to the final year. Chiefs LCB Brandon Flowers sustained a chest injury in Sunday's loss to the Raiders but expects to play Week 16.
Flowers went down in the first quarter Sunday after colliding with teammate Jalil Brown. He later returned to the game, but was struggling. "I'm pretty sore, and had trouble breathing," Flowers said. "It doesn't limit your movement. It's just breathing. You can't take deep breaths, so you have to manage it."

Chiefs LCB Brandon Flowers is active for Week 14 despite being listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.
Kansas City's Week 14 inactives are QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Steve Breaston, WR Devon Wylie, FS Kendrick Lewis, S Abram Elam, FB Nate Eachus, and DT Jerrell Powe. Flowers will try to cover Josh Gordon et al, at less than 100 percent Sunday. ILB Derrick Johnson was also listed as questionable, but is in the lineup.

Flowers seemed to have a setback with the training-camp injury when he appeared on Wednesday's injury report, missing practice. He got back into the mix late in the week and is on pace to start Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.

Brandon Flowers (heel) is back on the Chiefs' injury report, and missed Wednesday's practice.
Flowers appears to have tweaked the injury that slowed him in camp and held him out in Week 1. It's possible the Chiefs are just giving him extra rest as they gear up for a tough matchup with the Ravens, but it's a situation to monitor.

Chiefs RB Shaun Draughn is missing OTAs due to a sports hernia.
There's no word on whether Draughn underwent surgery. A third-year UDFA out of North Carolina, Draughn was serviceable in the Jamaal Charles backup role last season, but will be guaranteed nothing under the new Kansas City regime. He can't afford to miss much time after Knile Davis was drafted in the third round.

Chiefs placed WR Terrance Copper (knee) on season-ending injured reserve and signed WR Junior Hemingway from the practice squad.
Copper, 31 in March, caught eight passes for 79 yards on the season, but he holds more value to the Chiefs as a special teams player. He's under contract for $840,000 in 2013. Hemingway was taken in the seventh round of this past year's draft out of Michigan.

The Chiefs thought Moeaki might be ready by now, but predictably, he's not. He does remain on track to be ready for training camp. Going into the final year of his rookie contract, the Chiefs have greased the skids for Moeaki's departure after signing Anthony Fasano and drafting Travis Kelce.
