9/16/2011: Signed a six-year, $49.35 million contract. The deal contains $22 million guaranteed, including a $10 million signing bonus. $11 million of Flowers' guaranteed money is guaranteed for both skill and injury, although the other $11 million is guaranteed solely for injury. Another $1.25 million is available through escalators applicable to the final year. They were limited in practice all week, but their status was never really in doubt. The Chiefs' corners have been a relative strength this season, but they get somewhat minimized against the Patriots' TE-friendly offense led by underneath assassin Wes Welker.

Brandon Flowers (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Flowers was limited all week and was considered a game-time decision. If he can be effective on that gimpy ankle, he'll suck a little upside out of Percy Harvin and the Vikings' passing game. The Chiefs' inactives: QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Jerheme Urban, WR Jon Baldwin, T Steve Maneri, DT Jerrell Powe, DT Brandon Bair and S Jon McGraw.

Chiefs LCB Brandon Flowers (ankle) is a game-time decision for Week 4.
Flowers turned in "limited" practices all week and is listed as questionable to face the Vikings. Even if the Chiefs' top corner does play, it appears he won't be at 100 percent. Vikings WR Percy Harvin has a quality Week 4 matchup.

Chiefs LCB Brandon Flowers (ankle) participated in the portion of practice open the media on Wednesday.
"I feel good," Flowers said afterward. "I went out there and practiced today, moved around a little bit and it felt a lot better than I thought it would. That’s a real positive sign. Going into tomorrow’s practice I’m going to push it even more." Barring a setback, Flowers is trending toward being active against the Vikings.

Jamaal Charles, Tony Moeaki and Eric Berry were each held out of the beginning of Chiefs OTAs on Monday.
All three players are in the final stages of their recoveries from torn ACLs. Each is expected to be at or extremely close to 100 percent for the beginning of camp. Charles recently estimated that he's "80 percent," and said he felt he can "do the same thing my teammates do." Kansas City will likely hold its dynamic trio out of next month's minicamp.

Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki (ACL surgery) expects to be at full strength for the opening of training camp in late July.
Moeaki has been running and lifting weights, but he's still unsure about his participation level in offseason practices beginning next month. Moeaki will be more than 10 months removed from surgery by the time camp opens, so his Week 1 status should in no way be in jeopardy.
