5/17/2012: Signed a six-year, $45.615 million contract. The deal contains $20.765 million guaranteed -- an $8.5 million signing bonus, McCoy's 2012-2014 base salaries, and $1 million of his 2015 salary. After increased tape study, ESPN's Ron Jaworski predicts Eagles coach Chip Kelly's offense will not translate to the NFL.
Jaws is perhaps the most respected game-tape watcher in pro sports, so his opinion is notable. "I just don’t see NFL passing concepts in this offense," Jaworski said. "It’s a movement offense by the quarterback, off the run-action, off the read-action. A lot of short, quick passes, dart routes, bubble screens. Very few plays down the field with NFL passing concepts." Jaws said he "hopes" he's wrong, but this was his conclusion after extensive tape study. "It’s easy to say, ‘Yeah, it worked in college,’" added Jaws. "But then I looked at a game like Stanford. Stanford, a good defensive football team, shut them down. I hope it works. I like the innovation, but I think it’s going to be very difficult."

LeSean McCoy reportedly showed up to spring workouts in his "best shape ever."
Shady got the memo about the breakneck pace of Chip Kelly's offense, and the peak physical conditioning it requires. McCoy averaged just 4.2 yards per carry last season after averaging 5.0 between 2010-11. Perhaps he thinks his conditioning was one of the reasons why. Although Kelly favors a multi-back approach, there's no doubt McCoy will be his lead dog. He's locked into top-five status in fantasy leagues.

The criminal case against LeSean McCoy regarding the December party bus incident is still ongoing.
Right now, McCoy is only facing civil charges from a woman who claims the Eagles running back told his bodyguard, "Big John," to "get her." She says Big John struck her in the face, physically restrained her on the ground, poured a beverage onto her, and forcibly dragged her. She also alleges McCoy kicked her off the bus while on the New Jersey Turnpike, but let her back on and then left her once they arrived at a rest stop. This doesn't mean McCoy will ever be charged criminally, but New Jersey State Police have not closed their investigation.

There's a major difference between
sued
and
charged,
but it's still a potential headache for the Eagles. The suit's plaintiff alleges McCoy assaulted her before kicking her off of a New Year's Eve party bus. McCoy has admitted to kicking the woman off the bus, but denies the assault. The plaintiff is seeking $50,000 in damages. Criminal charges appear unlikely, so the episode is unlikely to affect McCoy on the field.

Eagles TE/H-back James Casey underwent arthroscopic surgery to clean out loose cartilage in his right knee.
Casey, who signed a three-year, $12M contract in March, will miss the rest of spring workouts. He is expected to be ready for training camp. It's a setback for a player trying to learn Chip Kelly's offense and competing for snaps with both Brent Celek and rookie Zach Ertz. Casey was barely on the TE2 radar anyway.
