Redskins signed CB E.J. Biggers.
It's an underrated get for the cap-strapped Redskins. The 6'0/185 Biggers was the lone bright spot in Tampa's rancid secondary last season, grading out as a top-20 coverage corner according to ProFootballFocus. There's also a familiarity in the scheme as former Bucs head coach and current Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris was with Biggers for his first two NFL seasons. Still just 25 years old, the 2009 seventh-round pick has 24 career starts under his belt. If the Redskins don't bring back free agent DeAngelo Hall, Biggers could be penciled in at left corner.

The Bucs are reportedly interested in re-signing free agent CB E.J. Biggers.
We haven't heard a peep on Biggers since the season ended. A lanky corner at 6-foot and 185 pounds, Biggers was probably the Bucs' best corner in what was a terrible group last season. He could likely be had on a one-year deal, and he may be an option for the Redskins with former coach Raheem Morris.

Washington Examiner
E.J. Biggers is starting at cornerback in place of Aqib Talib (suspension) versus the Chiefs in Week 6.
Outside of an embarrassing performance against Hakeem Nicks in Week 2, Talib has played well this season. It's an upgrade for Dwayne Bowe if Brady Quinn can get him the ball. Bucs inactives: OG Cody Wallace, TE Danny Noble, CB Anthony Gaitor, WR Chris Owusu, RB Michael Smith, S Keith Tandy and DE Markus White.

Bucs CB E.J. Biggers broke a bone in his foot during Friday's training camp practice.
The Bucs had some bad luck on Friday, as Arrelious Benn also went down with a sprained MCL. Biggers was in line to open the year as the Bucs' third corner, but he may now miss a few early regular season games. Myron Lewis, Anthony Gaitor, and rookie Keith Tandy will pick up additional reps in the meantime.

Robert Griffin III
Sidelined
Robert Griffin III (ACL, LCL surgery) said he'll start "explosive sprinting" in a few weeks.
Griffin is planting, throwing and running without a problem. The final two steps of his rehab include the all-out sprinting followed by cutting. Griffin confirmed he has had absolutely no setbacks and his goal is to be ready for training camp. At this point, Week 1 seems realistic.

Sidelined
CSN Washington believes Roy Helu and No. 154 pick RB Chris Thompson are competing for the same roster spot.
The same is true of Evan Royster and No. 228 pick Jawan Jamison. Thompson and Helu are both change-of-pace type runners, while Royster and Jamison rely more on vision and power. Jamison is the longest shot of the four, but Helu's roster spot will very much be in danger if he doesn't report to camp 100 percent healthy and stay 100 percent healthy.
May 19
4
Chris Thompson
Sidelined
Redskins agreed to terms with No. 154 overall pick RB Chris Thompson on a four-year contract.
Recovering from an October ACL tear, Thompson is questionable for the beginning of training camp. Thompson is a thimble of a football player at 5-foot-7, 192 pounds, but coach Mike Shanahan believes he would have been a first- or second-round pick if not for his injury. That's because of his electric speed. Thompson could eventually make noise as a scat/third-down back, but will most likely be "redshirted" this season.

Redskins FB Dorson Boyce (shoulder) could be cleared for contact this week.
Boyce tore his labrum in the preseason finale last year. The 24-year-old rushed ten times for 44 yards in exhibition action last season. He could compete for a special teams role or a spot on the practice squad.

Sidelined
Updating a previous item, Pierre Garcon underwent "minor" labrum surgery in January.
Coach Mike Shanahan initially said Garcon underwent "chest" surgery. The labrum is part of the shoulder. Garcon is reportedly healthy right now, but he isn't participating in team drills at OTAs as a "precaution." Entering his age-27 season, Garcon should be all systems go for training camp.

Josh Morgan had ligaments in each of his hands repaired after the season.
Tack this issue on top of ongoing concerns surrounding Morgan's right leg issues. After appearing to lack burst last season, he had surgery to remove a plate and seven screws from his right ankle in January. Morgan may not be ready for OTAs.

Fred Davis (Achilles') was catching passes and running routes as the Redskins opened OTAs Thursday.
Like Robert Griffin III (knee), Davis was not in uniform and worked off to the side. It's still encouraging to see him pivoting and moving well seven months after blowing out his heel. Beat writer Chris Russell said Davis "looks better than I thought." The pass-catching tight end says he's at 90 percent now and expects to be 100 percent by June's minicamps.

Jordan Reed
Sidelined
Redskins third-round TE Jordan Reed did not participate in rookie minicamp due to a bone bruise in his knee and a pulled quad.
Reed, the 85th pick in the draft, pulled a quad, which resulted in knee soreness. The Redskins are "hopeful" he'll be able to get back to action in a "couple weeks." Washington starts OTAs on May 20, and Reed should be on the field.
