CSN Bay Area considers 49ers RB Anthony Dixon "50-50" to make the 53-man roster.

Dixon earned his way onto the team last summer, but ended up playing just 32 offensive snaps. Dixon could be out of luck if fourth-round pick Marcus Lattimore (knee) manages to avoid the reserve/NFI list or injured reserve to begin the season. May 1 - 6:36 PM

Coach Jim Harbaugh declined to say what was ailing his No. 1 back, offering up only that he's "working through a little something." Gore has taken a tremendous amount of punishment throughout his career, but hasn't missed a game since Harbaugh took over as coach in 2011. Offseason absences are not a concern for the eight-year veteran. May 28
	2	Kendall Hunter Sidelined 49ers RB Kendall Hunter (Achilles) has resumed cutting at OTAs. Hunter will be a full eight months removed from his torn left Achilles' when the 49ers hit training camp at the end of July. Running backs have a longer recovery period than other positions because of their need to cut. It's a positive sign that Hunter's been able to do so nearly two months before camp opens. May 31

In other words, he's not putting a timeline on it. Manningham thinks he'll be ready for Week 1, but is still just five and a half months removed from tearing up his knee in Week 16. The 49ers are thin at receiver, but will be even thinner if they rush Manningham back and he suffers a setback. Jun 11

Williams was facing an uphill battle to be ready for the offseason program, but he's reportedly on pace to return at the start of training camp. Manningham was never expected to participate in OTAs, and he's a candidate to start the season on the PUP list. Both will compete for roster spots. Apr 11
