According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Packers have placed James Starks on the trade block.
Unable to stay healthy, Starks is on his way out of Green Bay one way or another. They've drafted perhaps the two best running backs available in Eddie Lacy and Johnathan Franklin, and Starks had already fallen behind DuJuan Harris. If GM Ted Thompson can get anything at all for a former sixth-round pick that has missed 26 games over the last three seasons, it will be a miracle.

Running backs coach Alex Van Pelt conceded that James Starks is probably better suited for a change-of-pace role at this point.
Now 27 years old, Starks has blown his chance to seize control of the Packers' backfield. He's missed 13 games over the last two seasons due to injury and averaged just 3.59 YPC in 2012. Starks will be back in Green Bay next season for the final year of his rookie contract, but we can safely expect him to be part of a committee. DuJuan Harris, Alex Green and possibly impending free agent Cedric Benson will also be in the mix.

James Starks (knee) has a chance to play in Saturday's Divisional Round game against the 49ers.
Starks hasn't played since sustaining a bone bruise in Week 13. After working on the scout team as "Adrian Peterson" last week, he's getting real reps with the offense this week. If active, Starks would merely compete for backup reps behind starter DuJuan Harris.

Packers declared RB James Starks, WR Donald Driver, WR Jarrett Boykin, CB Davon House, OLB Frank Zombo, DT Jordan Miller, and DE Jerel Worthy inactive for the Wild Card Round against the Vikings.
Driver has likely played his last snap in a Green Bay uniform. Starks has a knee injury and was listed as questionable on the injury report, although there was never a realistic chance he'd play. Randall Cobb (ankle) and Jordy Nelson (knee) are both active. They're also getting back S/CB Charles Woodson.
