Giants CB Prince Amukamara re-injured his hamstring in last Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Ravens.
Amukamara originally suffered the injury in Week 14 against the Saints, and it forced him to miss one game. He went into the Baltimore game sore, but said he was good enough to go. Amukamara felt the hamstring "grab" while attempting to cover Torrey Smith on a go route, and an MRI on Monday revealed that the injury extended further down his leg. The 2011 first-round pick is not expected to play this week after being a "DNP" in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Amukamara has played in just 19 of a possible 31 regular season games in his two seasons.

Giants CB Prince Amukamara has been diagnosed with a strained hamstring.
Amukamara's removal from Sunday's blowout win over the Saints was initially deemed precautionary, but coach Tom Coughlin was vague on his status at Monday's presser. "He's being treated. We’ll just have to see the severity of it." The 2011 first-round pick has held his own as a first-year starter this season, but hasn't been an impact player. Jayron Hosley would likely start opposite Corey Webster if Amukamara can't go against the Falcons.

Giants CB Prince Amukamara was forced from New York's Week 14 game against the Saints with a hamstring injury.
Amukamara was deemed "questionable" to return when he departed mid-way through the second half, but wasn't seen again down the stretch of a blowout. It's possible his absence was purely precautionary. Amukamara's status should be updated at Monday's presser.

Giants RCB Prince Amukamara limited Jeremy Maclin to zero catches in Amukamara's first NFL start in Week 4.
Although Maclin was coming off a hip injury, the oft-ailing 2011 first-round pick had his number on Sunday Night Football. Amukamara appeared to aggravate his own ankle injury at one point in the game, but returned and should be fine moving forward. Look for Amukamara to be the new staple at right cornerback.

"I don't really negotiate my contract in the media," said Nicks. "Let my agent do that. I just play football." The 2009 first-round pick is entering a contract year. The Giants are highly unlikely to let Nicks walk, but his history of leg injuries could compel them to adopt a deliberate pace in talks. Nicks would be a strong candidate for the franchise tag if no long-term deal is reached.
