The Jaguars fear TE Brett Brackett sustained a serious knee injury during Monday's practice.
Brackett's career in Jacksonville is off to a bad start. "I was standing right behind him, and it didn't look good when he planted -- it looked like it just gave way," coach Mike Mularkey said. Brackett was just claimed off waivers from the Eagles over the weekend.

Jaguars claimed TE Brett Brackett off waivers from the Eagles.
A second-year pro, Brackett pushed Clay Harbor for No. 2 duties in Philadelphia, but was waived after making eight catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns during the preseason. A former receiver, Brackett will provide pass-catching depth for the Jags after they waived/injured Zach Miller on Saturday.

Brett Brackett is expected to push Clay Harbor for the Eagles' No. 2 tight end job.
Beat writers noted several times throughout the offseason that the former Penn State wide receiver looked better than Harbor in non-contact practices. Brackett will have to improve his blocking to at least functional before he unseats Harbor.

Undrafted Jaguars QB Jordan Rodgers will be sidelined until training camp after undergoing sports-hernia surgery.
Aaron's younger brother, Rodgers is competing with fellow undrafted QB Matt Scott for No. 3 duties. This gives the more-talented Scott another leg up in a competition the Jaguars would likely prefer him to win.

Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) said his goal is to resume full-scale workouts in the month ahead of training camp.
Jones-Drew didn't practice with the Jags during Monday's OTAs. Instead, he ran 30-yard dashes at three-quarters speed. "Lately, it's been one day on, a day off, two days on, a day off — it's part of the process," he said. "I'm closer than I think. I just want to take my time and make sure we do it the right way." Rehab from Lisfranc surgery is nothing to be brushed off lightly. We'll be watching MJD's progress closely as he enters a contract year.

Coach Gus Bradley said he's giving suspended WR Justin Blackmon a clean slate.
Blackmon has two DUI arrests and a four-game substance-abuse violation on his resume since 2010. But none of that occurred while Bradley was in contact with the 2012 No. 5 overall pick. The pair is having regular conversations as Blackmon tries to stabilize his life and career. "He's never done anything wrong with me. It'd be different if I was talking to him and I didn't feel like we were connecting at all. I do feel a connection," Bradley said.
