Ryan Lindley was benched early in the third quarter of Week 16 in favor of Brian Hoyer.
Hoyer was claimed off waivers from the Steelers on December 10. Lindley struggled as usual against the Bears, completing just 17-of-30 passes for 141 yards and an interception that was returned for a touchdown by Peanut Tillman. Look for Hoyer to close out a disappointing Cardinals season as the Week 17 starter, as well.

Ryan Lindley currently holds the NFL record for most passes in a season (141) without a touchdown pass.
Lindley has yet to throw a touchdown and has an appalling bad 45.0 QB rating and 51.1 completion percentage in his first four appearances. If he manages to hold on to the starting job beyond Week 16, it's possible he'll remain scoreless for the entire season. The Cardinals face two top-six pass defenses in the Bears and 49ers the final two weeks.

Ryan Lindley will remain the Cardinals' starting quarterback in Week 16.
Coming off his best game of the season — 58.4 QB rating, 104 yards, zero touchdowns and only one turnover — Lindley will attempt to tally his first score against the Bears. If things go as poorly as they should on paper, John Skelton, or perhaps even Brian Hoyer, will get a look under center.

Ryan Lindley completed just 14-of-21 passes for 104 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's Week 15 win over the Lions.
Lindley tossed just the one pick, so that has to be considered improvement for the rookie. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt didn't ask his quarterback to take any shots downfield, so he was set up to not turn the ball over. His quarterback rating of 58.4 is laughably a season-best. The win will likely get Lindley another start next week against the Bears. Arizona will probably have to peel him off the turf a number of times in Week 16.

Coach Bruce Arians reiterated that the running back spot is open to competition.
Rashard Mendenhall may be the slight favorite as he had his best years under Arians in Pittsburgh and will be roughly 20 months removed from his ACL tear when Week 1 rolls around. But Ryan Williams, Stepfan Taylor and Andre Ellington will all be in the mix as well. "You really can't tell until the lights come on," Arians said. "Some were different from this morning's walkthrough to the afternoon practice. Until you turn the lights on, you really don't know about them."

Cardinals TE Jeff King is recovering from knee surgery, but could be ready to resume practicing by early June.
The blocking tight end is sitting out OTAs, but sounds like he'll be ready for training camp. He's likely recovering from a scope. A seven-year veteran, King graded out as the third-worst tight end in the league in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season.
