Sixth-round LB Danny Trevathan worked in the Broncos' first-team nickel package to open minicamp.
The Broncos are experimenting at linebacker with D.J. Williams' six-game suspension hanging over their heads. "(Trevathan) has attacked it really well as far as in the meeting rooms, in his playbook," coach John Fox said. "This game is so mental, and for a young guy, he's caught on pretty quickly."

Broncos agreed to terms with sixth-round LB Danny Trevathan on a four-year contract.
Trevathan is undersized at 6-foot-0, 237 pounds, but racked up huge tackling numbers at Kentucky. Nevertheless, he'll no doubt be ticketed for special teams if he cracks the Broncos' 53.

Broncos selected Kentucky LB Danny Trevathan with the No. 188 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Trevathan is size-deficient at 6'0" and 237 pounds, but he was a tackling machine for the Wildcats. Although he gets points for toughness, competitiveness, and effort, Trevathan's physical limitations will likely have him earmarked for special teams in Denver.

The Denver Post expects the Broncos to release one of Knowshon Moreno or Willis McGahee.
It's painfully obvious one of Moreno and McGahee are on the way out following the selection of Montee Ball, and McGahee is the far likelier candidate. Although Moreno barely survived final cuts last summer, he's both far younger and cheaper than McGahee, who's scheduled to make $2.5 million in his age-32 campaign. Going on 26, Moreno will make $1.7 million in the final year of his rookie contract. Moreno's competent play down the stretch last season likely bought him another year in Denver.
