Browns No. 6 overall pick OLB Barkevious Mingo currently weighs 237 pounds.
He's down four pounds from his Combine weigh-in. The Browns envision Mingo as an all-out edge speed rusher, so his weight wouldn't be a major concern unless he dipped into the 220s like Aaron Maybin used to do in Buffalo. Mingo doesn't project as a great rookie run defender, but he'll be a sneaky favorite for 2013 Defensive Rookie of the Year on a highly underrated Cleveland defense.

Browns selected LSU OLB Barkevious Mingo with the No. 6 overall pick.
Mingo (6-foot-4, 241) tormented the SEC to the tune of 15 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a sophomore before his production dipped to 8.5 TFLs and 4.5 sacks last year. LSU coaches asked Mingo to work more in containment, but he failed to finish plays and must learn to play with better leverage. Still a highly explosive edge presence with big upside, Mingo is relentless with rare speed and length (33 3/4" arms). At the Combine, he ranked first among D-Linemen in the ten-yard split (1.55) and broad jump (10-foot-8), as well as second in the forty (4.58) and vertical (37"). Mingo will convert to outside linebacker in Cleveland's 3-4, where he'll be a natural fit. Jabaal Sheard may want to start packing his bags.

Draft Kickoff
show, Ian Rapoport reported the Falcons are interested in LSU DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo and Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert if they can trade up.
Mingo is expected to be a top-ten pick, so it would likely take a monumental package to get there from the No. 30 pick the Falcons currently hold. Atlanta badly needs pass rush help, but Florida State's Bjoern Werner and Tank Carradine seem like more realistic options. Eifert is tentatively expected to be picked in the 12-18 range. He could be the heir apparent to Tony Gonzalez.

NFL Network's Albert Breer hears the Browns could be trying to trade up to No. 3 overall.
If the Chiefs and Jags select tackles Eric Fisher and Luke Joeckel, the scramble for pass rushers is going to be on. The Eagles, Lions and Browns are all interested in the position and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Cleveland wants to get up for LSU DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo. They could also be looking at Oregon's Dion Jordan. The rebuilding Raiders could trade back and possibly still get the best 4-3 defensive tackle available, Florida's Sharrif Floyd.

Browns WR David Nelson (knee surgery) isn't participating in this week's voluntary workouts.
Nelson is still rehabbing his torn ACL, but should be ready for June's mandatory minicamp. At 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, Nelson joins Greg Little and Josh Gordon to form one of the biggest receiver trios in the league. With new coach Rob Chudzinski's history of heavily utilizing the tight end, however, it's a poor bet Nelson will approach his 2011 stat line of 61/658/5 as the fourth option in the offense.
