First-round TE Tyler Eifert has made a "big impression" in Bengals OTAs.
"From Day 1 nothing has seemed too big for him," Andy Dalton said of his rookie tight end. "It’s like ‘you want to go do this, OK I’ll go do this.’ He does it really well. That’s why we picked him with the first pick, and he’s really well-deserving." Eifert has been lining up "all over the field," including in two-tight end sets with Jermaine Gresham. The presence of Gresham makes Eifert unlikely to achieve TE1 status as a rookie, but he's an excellent Dynasty-league prospect.

Bengals rookie TE Tyler Eifert lined up in multiple positions during rookie minicamp practice.
Eifert lined up as a tight end on either side and also as a slot receiver during practice on Friday, and he said the Bengals’ offense came naturally to him. Head coach Marvin Lewis was impressed with Eifert, saying he "is as advertised." It appears the Bengals plan to get Eifert involved immediately, though we're not convinced he's anything more than a TE2 fantasy option in his rookie season.

The Charlotte Observer reports Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert was "in the discussion" for the Panthers at No. 14 before they selected Utah DT Star Lotulelei.
Greg Olsen is only 28, coming off a solid season and signed through 2015, so it's a bit of a surprise, especially since the Panthers are unsettled at receiver. Rookie Panthers GM Dave Gettleman is off to a mediocre start.

Bengals selected Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert with the No. 21 overall pick.
It's an acknowledgement of disappointment in Jermaine Gresham, who has never lived up to his athletic billing coming out of college and was an absolute dog in the Bengals' playoff loss to Houston. Eifert (6-foot-5 1/2, 250) caught 140 passes for 1,840 yards (13.1 YPR) and 11 touchdowns across three seasons for the Irish, demonstrating terrific hands and elite high-pointing ability on contested throws. He was a dangerous intermediate seam-stretcher as a freshman and sophomore before facing more double teams as a junior and learning to win 50:50 balls amid tight coverage. Also a willing blocker, Eifert sewed up a first-round draft slot with a 4.68 forty at the Combine and a 35.5-inch vertical, which both ranked in the top five at his position. He drew pre-draft comparisons to Todd Heap. Unfortunately due to his landing spot, Eifert is unlikely to make much fantasy noise as a rookie.

The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy "highly doubts" both Bernard Scott and Giovani Bernard will make the Bengals' 53-man roster.
In other words, Scott's roster spot is in jeopardy. Bernard obviously isn't going anywhere after being the first running back drafted last weekend. The Bengals re-signed Scott, 29, to a one-year deal last month. Cincinnati will likely keep four running backs: BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Bernard, special teams ace Cedric Peerman, and sixth-round pick Rex Burkhead.
