Bill Dineen, a two-time Stanley Cup winner with Detroit and Philadelphia, and the father of former NHL'ers of Peter, Gordon and Kevin, passed away at the age of 84 on Saturday.
Dineen also captured a pair of AHL Calder Cup championships with Houston, and is in the American Hockey League's Hall of Fame. "During his time as a player and coach, and in the values he instilled in his family, Bill Dineen created a legacy of greatness in the American Hockey League that still resonates today," David Andrews, AHL president and chief executive officer told NHL.com.
