Daniel Carcillo has decided to end his playing career.
Carcillo had 48 goals, 100 points, and 1,233 penalty minutes in 429 career games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings, and New York Rangers. Along the way he won the Stanley Cup with Chicago in 2013 and 2015. Carcillo is dedicating himself to his charity, Chapter 5, which is focused on helping athletes transition to life after their playing careers are over. As Carcillo put it, "My mission is to help guys who are dealing with anxiety, depression, and uncertainty about their future. Not down the line, not next week, but right now." The charity is named after Steve Montador, who wore number five and passed away in September. Sep 17 - 12:12 PM
