The goal capped a furious comeback by the Kings who were down 3-2 with less than two minutes to go but a couple of San Jose penalties gave the Kings a two-man advantage and Dustin Brown scored at the 18:17 mark of the third to tie it up. The Kings were still on the power play when Lewis scored the winner 22 seconds later. The Kings got off to a 2-0 lead on goals by Jeff Carter and Drew Doughty. "Our defense can clearly do a better job at that (getting more involved in the play), other than Doughty last night," coach Darryl Sutter said. "I think he had . . .maybe nine total attempts, and he had five shots. After that, we were. . .not nearly as involved, or what we were getting from the outside from some guys that are looked on as goal scorers or shooters for their team, what they were doing in the series – things like that." Mitchell had two surgeries on his knee, which was injured during the lockout, and the Kings GM expressed his worry over the 35-year-old's availability for next season. In terms of his career, that’s what I think we have to figure out now where he is health-wise in terms of his career," Lombardi said. ... "Now I’m getting some information – and I don’t like speaking to it because I don’t have it all, but I guess it’s safe to say there would be a legitimate concern now whether he plays next year. But that could be premature. Let’s just say now, though, it’s possible, where I wouldn’t have thought it possible."
