The Detroit Red Wings may retire Sergei Fedorov's No. 91.
Fedorov spent 13 of his 18 NHL seasons with Detroit, winnings three Stanley Cups, two Selke Trophies, a Hart Trophy, and a Lester Pearson Award (now Ted Lindsay) with the team. Said Red Wings GM Ken Holland, "certainly, being selected to go in the Hall of Fame is an incredible accomplishment. He was a great player and a great Red Wing. Certainly worth serious consideration." But notes that the final decision lies with the Ilitch family and senior vice president Jimmy Devellano. Fedorov currently ranks within the top-10 or better in every major offensive Red Wings category, including fourth with 400 goals, fifth with 954 points, and eighth with 908 career games in Detroit.
