Edmonton Oilers GM Steve Tambellini believes goaltender Olivier Roy could develop into an NHL starter.
When referring to Roy, Tambellini stated he feels the netminder "has the potential to be a number No. 1 NHL goalie". For his part, Roy likens himself to certain NHLers that have taken a more circuitous route to success, comparing himself to Tim Thomas and Jon Quick. "There are goalies that teams want to rush and they put them in the National Hockey League, but there are goalies who have taken a longer route with success. Like Tim Thomas (retired for this season, but likely coming back) and Jonathan Quick," said Roy. "I really like how Quick did it.
