Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Dispatch thinks the Ilya Kovalchuk to the Blues makes a lot of sense.
Brodeur obviously knows Kovlchuk after spending parts of four seasons together while playing in New Jersey. One of Brodeur's jobs with the Blues is to make trips overseas and a meeting or two between the two former teammates has likely happened while Kovalchuk has been playing in the KHL. Rutherford still thinks it's a tough deal seeing as all the hoops any team that trades for Kovalchuk will have to go through with the NHL. If a deal were to happen, having Kovalchuk and Tarasenko coming down the ice on opposite wings will scare many teams. Jun 10 - 10:37 AM
