The Dallas Stars will retire Mike Modano's number nine in a ceremony Saturday night.
They will raise his jersey to the rafters in a ceremony prior to the Stars' game against Minnesota. Modano is arguably the best American forward to ever play in the NHL. He leads all U.S. scorers in career points with 1374, 1359 of which came as a Star. That total puts him first on the Stars' all-time scoring list and almost 500 points better than Neal Broten, who is second. A well-deserved honor for a beloved hockey player in Texas.
