Horcoff, who will be 35 before next season starts, is due to count $5.5 million against the cap the next two seasons and is coming off a 12-point, 31-game season. Young players like Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle appear ready to take over the team's leadership mantle and it's hard to see Horcoff having a big enough role next year to justify that pay day. But he's been a really good addition for us ... and the kid can really skate. He really brings what we're looking for which is an uptempo style, and he's great in the locker-room." It’s always nice to see Khabby do well. He’s worked so hard to rehab his hip after surgery. He’s really been a rock for us and I hope he’s proud of his effort, because we are."
