J.T. Brown is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks following surgery to repair a displaced fracture of his collarbone.
He has contributed six goals and 17 points in 26 games this season with AHL Syracuse, but coach Jon Cooper said Brown was "just coming into his own" so it makes the injury a little tougher to see. He was hurt on a hard hit from Admirals defenseman Mat Clark last Friday. Brown is expected to be given a shot with the Lightning if the NHL is saved, but obviously for that to happen the lockout has to end and he has to get healthy. Mon, Dec 31, 2012 04:16:00 PM
