Eric Lindros was inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday night.
The center tallied 290 goals and 369 assists in 486 games with the Flyers, his final days with the team highlighted by a public feud with then-general manager Bob Clarke and his career ultimately cut short by concussions. He said he was motivated by the "passionate fans" of Philadelphia, backed the players in their labor dispute and talked about where the game is with concussions. "Things evolve," Lindros said. "The word concussion was never used [back then]. The game has made some changes. Taking out the red line, I’m not so sure that if I were commissioner I wouldn’t oppose it. ... "[Concussions] are being handled better. People are coming out and saying, ‘This is how I feel. What can I do to get better?’ They are being more up front about it. Teams are taking it far more seriously." Fri, Nov 9, 2012 10:01:00 AM
