Mohamed Diame made a huge impact as a substitute for West Ham United in the final half hour of their match against Norwich City, scoring a goal and adding an assist to see the Hammers to a 2-0 victory over the Canaries.
Sam Allardyce decided after an hour of little threat from his attack to take Matt Jarvis for Diame, and it did not take long for that maneuver to pay off. Diame first got a close effort thwarted by John Ruddy, then after a quick restart to a free kick, he crossed the ball into the box and James Collins headed home to break the deadlock. Then the points were sealed in the final moments when Diame broke loose and stormed for about 80 yards down the pitch before catching Ruddy wrong-footed to squirt in a well-deserved goal. Diame may not earn the respect by fantasy managers for investment, but he certainly has given Allardyce reason for a start next time out. Feb 11 - 7:22 PM
