Liverpool suffered perhaps their most frustrating result of the season, losing 3-0 at Old Trafford to Manchester United as the season for the two sides continues to head in opposite directions.
"Frustrating" is a common description for a result that goes bad in the Premier League, but there really is no better word for what the Reds endured today. They came out on the front foot, and Raheem Sterling used his pace to sneak himself into high percentage scoring positions but he was denied by David De Gea early and often and though Pool had the game on paper, United were in control 2-0 at the half. The missed opportunities for Raheem Sterling shifted to Mario Balotelli, who came on as a substitute in the second half and proceeded to, well, be Mario Balotelli -- show massive flair, come up empty and pick up a silly yellow card in the process. Today's result was a reflection of the two biggest names in the league last year no longer around - Luis Suarez, which has turned Pool from title contenders into mid-table mediocrity and David Moyes, who's epic fail of a season at Old Trafford can be forgotten about as van Gaal rights the ship.
