Peter Crouch scored Stoke's decisive second goal late-on to give the Potters all three points against Southampton.
Southampton pegged Stoke back for the first half-hour of the game, at times forcing all 11 of Mark Hughes' men behind the ball. In spite of being at home, Stoke were limited to attacks on the counter though Choupo-Moting saw one effort saved by Forster. The home side grabbed the lead minutes before half-time as Diouf headed in Adams' corner. The Potters had a golden opportunity to go 2 ahead but Berahino spurned the chance to score a penalty, which had been given away by the returning Van Dijk. Yoshida brought the Saints level after Long mishit hit own shot to the Japan international. The game was delicately poised as the last 10 minutes began and it was Crouch who was there to tap in to win the game for Stoke after coming off the bench. Another bitter pill to swallow for Southampton and a crucial victory for Stoke. Sep 30 - 12:14 PM
