Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed the latest injury blow to Kevin De Bruyne: more ligament damage in his knee.
The Belgian star has not had the best luck this season—he suffered ligament damage in his knee in the first game of the season and missed six weeks. De Bruyne came on as a late sub in the last two Premier League games but, in his first start, suffered ligament damage to his other knee, ruling him out for at least a month. Fortunately for City, they have excelled without KDB, thanks to their midfield depth, including Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, David Silva, and Ilkay Gundogan among others. "Unfortunately he is injured, but fortunately he does not need surgery," Guardiola said. "In between four and six weeks the doctor said he will come back. Kevin was out for two and a half months, we are sad for him. When you come back [from injury] you cannot expect on day one he will be the player we know he is. Nov 2 - 3:42 PM
