Oklahoma senior TE Blake Bell drew comparisons Lions tight end Joseph Fauria at the Shrine Bowl, reported the Sporting News' Chris Kouffman.
"Partly due to his newness at the position, and partly due to the tight end position no longer being en vogue in today’s college passing games, Bell caught just 16 passes as a college tight end," Kouffman wrote. "Former Shrine Game participant and current Browns tight end Jordan Cameron suffered a similar fate at Southern California. Bell and Cameron provide an excellent example of how even players from larger programs need the week of Shrine practices to help scouts calibrate their talent relative to other players." Bell measured in at 6-foot-6 3/8 and 263 pounds with a 33-inch arm length and hands just under 10 inches, all prototypical dimensions. "Bell was surprisingly smooth and natural at running routes and catching the ball," Kouffman wrote. "He also showed athletic body control and consistently caught the football outside his frame with his hands. Bell showed good agility and some explosive ability. He jumps well." Jan 20 - 12:22 AM
