Giants traded up to draft Alabama SS Landon Collins with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
Collins (6'0/228) made 23 starts in Nick Saban's secondary, seeing action at both free and strong safety en route to 8.5 career TFLs and five interceptions. He was a consensus first-team All American in 2014. Collins ran 4.53 at the Combine with a 35-inch vertical and 10-foot broad jump. An aggressive, downhill safety and efficient tackler, Collins is best suited to play close to the line of scrimmage. He has some hip stiffness and lacks man-cover skills. Still, Collins projects as a plus NFL starter and should become an IDP contributor immediately, filling a huge hole in the Giants' secondary at strong safety. New York fielded the league's leakiest run defense in 2014. May 1 - 7:12 PM
