Brad Fritsch alerted his followers on Twitter that he has withdrawn from this week's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial due to an injury.
The rookie tweeted: "Back pain has caused me to WD from Colonial. Probably aggravated it quite a bit by playing on Friday/Saturday. #rest" The 35-year-old placed T75/MDF at last week's Byron Nelson, carding respective rounds of 69, 71 and 73. He has just one top-30 finish on the season, but he's 111th in FedExCup points on the strength of 11 paydays.

Brad Fritsch's rookie season continues at this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Fritsch has secured a solid 10 (of 14) paydays in 2013, with a T9 at the Farmers Insurance Open standing as his lone top 25. He's only broken 70 once in his last five tournaments, so his inability to go low should deter gamers from considering him in Yahoo! formats. He enters the week 30th in all-around ranking.

Brad Fritsch carded a 2-under-par 37-33=70 in his opening round of the Valero Texas Open, finishing two strokes off the pace of the clubhouse co-leaders.
This round could have gone anywhere. The rookie opened with a double bogey-6 at the first hole. He needed to take an unplayable lie after his drive and would eventually two-putt from just inside seven feet. At the par-5 second, where the hole is in the front of the green shared by the seventh hole, Fritsch took two whacks from a greenside bunker, the second of which resulting in a hole-out for birdie from 13 yards. The set the tone for the remainder of the round during his he played in bogey-free 3-under. Among his three birdies coming in, the longest disappeared from 10'8" at 12 and 14'1" at 17.

Brad Fritsch chased his opening 68 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with an even-par 34-38=72.
The Canadian hit 12 greens in regulation but converted just one birdie to complement an eagle that disappeared from 13'1" at the par-5 16th hole. He eliminated the chance for a red number, however, with a three-putt bogey from 28 feet at the par-4 10th, a bogey-6 at the sixth where his whiffed par attempt measured just four feet, and a bogey at the par-4 eighth where he short-sided himself on approach. He's 4-under 140 at the midpoint, five strokes back of the overnight co-leaders.
