Martin Kaymer will sit the next few weeks out with a shoulder injury, withdrawing from the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational as well as next week's PGA Championship.
Kaymer alerted his fans via Facebook saying, "Some of you might have heard already, but I am fighting a shoulder injury for some weeks now. After playing last week's Open Championship under medication, I have seen my doctors again this week." This certainly explains the sudden drop in form as the German hasn't cracked a top 30 over his last eight starts, worldwide. Kaymer would later add in his Facebook post, "I am looking to come back strong at the Made in Denmark in a couple of weeks, followed by the Czech Masters the week after." The fact that he's throwing out such a clear timeline is great news for the likely severity of this injury. Gamers should expect a quick recovery but also play it safe until he shows a sign that he's back in form. Jul 31 - 10:45 AM
