With a closing bogey-free 31-35=66, Pablo Larrazábal came from five strokes back to score a one-shot victory at the BMW International Open in Germany.
A total of 17-under 271 edged the Spaniard ahead of the fast-finishing Henrik Stenson and gave him a second win at Golfclub München Eichenried. Larrazábal, who first won this event in 2011, took the outright lead for good with a 15-foot birdie putt at 16. That removed the stress of having to make birdie at the par-5 18th and the 32-year-old laid up after finding sand off the tee, wedged to 20 feet and two-putted to land his fourth European Tour win. Chris Paisley could still have matched with an eagle at the last but the young Englishman leaked his drive right and could only make par although that was enough for a career-best solo third. Overnight leader James Morrison had a day to forget, shooting a 77 to end T11. Larrazábal, who was 12-for-13 in scrambling over the weekend, came into the event without a top 40 in his previous five tournaments. He's now exempt into the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational for the fourth time. Jun 28 - 10:38 AM
