Graham DeLaet withdrew from the RBC Canadian Open after four holes in today's second round, citing an injured left thumb.
Despite his confidence at the conclusion of the opening round, DeLaet opted to cut his losses. He opened with four pars today and called it quits after a 5 at No. 13. He was even through 22. In today's interview, the top-ranked talent from Canada explained his decision. "I couldn't compete," he said. "I just can't play golf like that. ... I think if I was still able to hit it long and straight and kind of play my game, I would have probably fought through it. I just don't want to risk any further injury." He cited the upcoming PGA Championship and FedExCup Playoffs as motivation to walk off Glen Abbey. DeLaet is also focused on qualifying for the Presidents Cup. Jul 24 - 10:22 AM
