Hunter Hamrick shredded Brunswick (Ga.) Country Club for a bogey-free, 10-under-par 30-32=62 to medal at today's open qualifier for The McGladrey Classic.
Nothing like capping the final four-spotter of the year in style. The University of Alabama product sandwiched a pair of eagle-3s with six birdies to earn his fifth start on the PGA TOUR this year. He's banked $115,979 thus far. Two-time TOUR winner, Paul Stankowski, converted eight birdies against one bogey today en route to a 7-under 32-33=65, good for a share of second place with former Indiana Hoosier, Chase Wright (bogey-free, 32-33=65; two eagles, three birdies). Atlanta's Jordan Mitchell (6-under 32-34=66; one eagle, five birdies, one bogey) emerged from a four-way playoff to secure the fourth and final berth into the tournament proper. Mitchell outlasted Bradley Long (bogey-free, 6-under 33-33=66), Wade Binfield (35-31=66) and Bruce McDonald (33-33=66). The field for The McGladrey Classic now complete at 132.
