David Lingmerth has been removed from the published field of this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Lingmerth's T2 at THE PLAYERS swung open several doors, the nearest of which include exemptions into the Colonial and Memorial the next two weeks. He's 31st in FedExCup points.

David Lingmerth fought for an even-par 36-36=72 in the final round of THE PLAYERS, taking Tiger Woods to the brink before falling into a tie for second at 11-under 277.
The rookie battled all day, never moving more than a stroke above or below par on his last lap around TPC Sawgrass. He was one of several players let back in the tournament after Tiger Woods made a double bogey on the par-4 14th, and was the only one that still had a shot to tie him on the 72nd hole. After his his playing partner, Sergio Garcia, deposited his first of two balls in the water on 17, Lingmerth stuffed his approach to 7'7" but missed the putt. With Woods safely in the clubhouse at 13-under, Lingmerth needed a birdie on the 18th to force a playoff. Facing a putt of 61'2", he gave it a valiant run past the hole then missed the par coming back. Perhaps the best news is that he's locked up his PGA TOUR card for 2013-2014 and a return trip for next season.

David Lingmerth finished off a 3-under-par 35-34=69 in the third round of THE PLAYERS with a bogey on the 18th hole Sunday morning, but leads the tournament at 11-under 205.
Lingmerth faced his share of adversity in his third lap around TPC Sawgrass, but immediately bounced back from three of his four bogeys on the very next hole. The only one he was unable to recover from fell at the 18th, which happened to be the only one he had to finish on Sunday. In all, he circled five birdies and an eagle while squaring four bogeys. The highlight of his round was an eagle from 8'2" on the par-5 16th.

David Lingmerth matched his opening 68 at THE PLAYERS in his second round to reach the halfway point in 8-under 136.
Lingmerth turned in respective nines of 35 and 33 today. He hit just 10 greens in regulation but buried five birdies, none longer than six feet. His only bogey of the round occurred at the par-4 18th where he short-sided his approach right of the green and eventually whiffed on the par attempt from 10'9". He'll wake up on Saturday sitting three strokes off the 36-hole lead.
