John Senden's 5-under-par 32-35=67 in the third round of the Wells Fargo Championship has given him the lead in the clubhouse at 6-under 210.
The Aussie was perfect through 15 holes, circling five birdies without a blemish. He bogeyed the 16th hole after finding the GIR and staring down a birdie putt from 30'8". To the naked eye, the 16th green is one of those struggling the most at Quail Hollow this week. He bounced back with a birdie from 18'9" just off the green on the par-3 17th and ended his day with a par on the difficult 18th. Senden hasn't won since the 2006 John Deere Classic, and will try and slam the door shut on his second PGA TOUR win in the final round.

John Senden has yet to make a cut at the Masters, but will try for the fourth time this week.
Those familiar with the Aussie’s game may not be all that surprised he hasn’t enjoyed success at Augusta National. The strength of his game has always been excellent ball-striking, with a glaring weakness for holing putts. That’s a problem on the slippery dance floors of ANGC.

John Senden enjoyed a solid week at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship in 2012, and he's back to try and replicate that this week.
The Aussie has made four cuts in five starts this year, but has yet to sniff a top 25. He's noted as a ball-striker, so that he's 38th in GIR is not a surprise. Equally predictable is his 116th ranking in strokes gained-putting. Hopefully a return to TPC Blue Monster at Doral will be just what the doctor ordered.

John Senden is 7-under-par 69-68=137 at the midpoint of the Farmers Insurance Open, four shots back of the 36-hole clubhouse lead.
After a four-birdie, one-bogey loop of Torrey Pines South in his opener, Senden circled five birdies against one bogey on the North Course today. Nine of his 10 rounds this year have been in the 60s, but he's still after his first top 25 of the year.
