Erik Compton put on a putting clinic in his second round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship en route to a 7-under-par 32-31=63.
The short story is that when he signed his card, his strokes gained-putting split was nearly 5.000 for today's round. However, the details deserve notice. He hit 14 greens in regulation and rolled in eight birdies, five of which from outside 14 feet. The set included respective conversions from 31 feet, 23'9", 27'4" and 55'5" at holes 14, 18, 2 and 3.
