Robinson Cano hit a pair of solo home runs and a double in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Indians.
Cano smacked his first homer of the game in the first inning, taking a Josh Tomlin pitch for a ride to straightaway center. He would hit another solo shot in the eighth inning. The star second baseman then had a chance to possibly win or tie the game for the Mariners in the ninth, facing Cody Allen down 5-3 with two outs and a pair of runners aboard. Allen struck him out on a foul tip to foil the comeback attempt. Cano struggled mightily in the first half of the 2015 season, but has been nothing short of spectacular through two-plus months in 2016, slashing .298/.352/.592 with 16 doubles, 18 homers and 50 RBI across 245 at-bats. On the micro level, he has picked up seven hits in his last 12 at-bats. Jun 10 - 2:08 AM
