Nate Schierholtz went 2-for-4 with a two-run double Wednesday in a losing cause against the Cardinals.
We were pretty skeptical about the Cubs' plan to use Schierholtz as a No. 5 hitter, but he's been terrific there so far, hitting .299 with four homers, 12 doubles and 17 RBI in 97 at-bats. He'll fade some offensively, but perhaps not as much as we thought. Getting out of San Francisco and into a decent ballpark for hitters seems to have done him a lot of good. May 8 - 5:24 PM
