Barry Zito announced that he is retiring from baseball.
Zito announced his retirement via a letter in the Players Tribune. "I am beyond thankful to be at peace with walking away," wrote Zito, "thanks in large part to my year of renewal in Nashville [at Triple-A] with the Sounds." Major League career complete, Zito retires with a record of 165-143. He fades into the sunset leaving behind a lifetime 4.04 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 1885/1064 K/BB ratio.
