Bud Smith threw two hitless innings yesterday in his debut for Triple-A Rochester.
Smith is just 25, but his shoulder woeshave most likely robbed him of a future as a long-term No. 3 starter in the majors. He's not going to have an easy time earning a promotion while in the Twins organization.

Bud Smith, out since early April with a sore shoulder, pitched two scoreless innings for Single-A Clearwater yesterday.
If Smith can stay healthy for a few weeks, he'll move back up to Triple-A. It's unlikely that he'll see time in the majors this year.

Bud Smith, who's been on the minor league DL since early April with a sore shoulder, is set to start pitching in extended spring training.
Smith doesn't appear likely to help the Phillies this season.

Bud Smith was placed on Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's disabled list because of a sore left shoulder.
There was no indication of when Smith might return. He felt soreness in his surgically repaired shoulder after his first start.

Ramirez has been out since late May but is no longer experiencing concussion-related symptoms. He should rejoin the Twins before the end of the month.

Hicks is making progress with his strained left hamstring, but it's not clear when he'll be ready to play in games again. It might be a stretch to hope he can return before the end of the month.
