Brandon Phillips went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the Reds beat the Marlins on Wednesday.
Phillips' run batted in was his 34th of the season, and the second baseman is now hitting .286 on the year. He bats behind one of the most prolific on-base machines in the game in Joey Votto, and it doesn't look like he'll move out of the cleanup spot any time soon. Enjoy the production.

Brandon Phillips went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.
Phillips also drew a walk and scored two runs. He had an RBI single in the bottom of the third inning and later launched a solo homer in the seventh which proved to be the difference in the ballgame. Phillips continues to thrive as the Reds' cleanup hitter, as he currently leads the National League with 31 RBI. All that production with the bat has overshadowed the fact that he has yet to steal a base through 34 games.

Brandon Phillips was the Reds offense on Wednesday, going 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an RBI double.
Phillips has nine hits in five games, raising his average to .289. His two RBI today allowed him to keep pace with Mets catcher John Buck, who had two against the Marlins, and remain one out of the NL lead.

Reds transferred OF Ryan Ludwick from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
It's merely a procedural move. Ludwick has been ruled out until early July with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

The Reds have determined that Chris Heisey's hamstring aggravation was not severe.
"It wasn’t horrendous," assistant general manager Bob Miller said. "He tweaked it." Heisey won't return until the next homestand, which runs from May 24-28, at the earliest. It's certainly possible his absence could stretch into June.

Manny Parra (pectoral) struck out two in a scoreless inning Monday in his first rehab appearance with Double-A Pensacola.
No word on the timeline for his return, but he'll likely make at least one more appearance before being activated. Parra has an 8.10 ERA and 7/3 K/BB ratio over 6 2/3 innings prior to going down with a strained left pectoral muscle at the end of April.

Reds transferred RHP Nick Masset from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
Masset is still recovering from right shoulder surgery, and he was recently shut down after suffering a setback. The right-hander hasn't pitched since 2011.
