Jake Peavy bounced back from a rough start his last time out in Sunday's 6-0 win over the Cubs, allowing just three hits across 6 1/3 scoreless innings.
Peavy struck out seven and walked two in improving to 5-1. Peavy has now been quality in eight of his first nine 2012 starts, and has a 2.39 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 55/11 K/BB ratio to show for it. He'll get the Indians at home next Saturday.

Jake Peavy was tagged for six runs in 5 1/3 innings by the Tigers on Tuesday.
Some very good starters figure to have bad days against that Detroit lineup this season, even if it has been a disappointment so far. Peavy hadn't allowed more than three runs in any of his seven starts this season before getting roughed up today.

Jake Peavy breezed by the Indians in Wednesday's 8-1 victory, allowing just one run on seven hits and one walk in seven innings of work.
Peavy fanned five in moving to 4-1 and dropping his ERA to 1.89. Now the owner of an absurd 0.80 WHIP and 44/7 K/BB ratio through 52 1/3 innings, Peavy has completed at least seven innings of work in five consecutive starts. He'll look to keep rolling against the Tigers at home next Tuesday.

Jake Peavy will skip his normal between-starts bullpen session following his 122-pitch start on Friday.
Peavy says he's feeling only "normal soreness" following the outing, but, just to be safe, he'll only play catch instead of throwing off a mound. The veteran right-hander is off to a fantastic start this season, posting a 1.99 ERA and 0.75 WHIP in six outings, so we're hoping he'll remain healthy.

White Sox placed 3B Brent Morel on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 18, with a lumbar back strain.
As expected. Morel's lower back failed to respond to a cortisone shot earlier this month, so the White Sox hope an extended absence will do the trick. The 25-year-old ended last season with some momentum, but he's batting just .177/.225/.195 with zero homers and a miserable 39/7 K/BB ratio across 125 plate appearances this year. The newly-signed Orlando Hudson will fill in for him at the hot corner.
