Matt Cain won despite allowing six runs in 6 1/3 innings Thursday versus the Rockies at Coors Field.
All of the runs came on homers: Todd Helton and Wilin Rosario hit back-to-back jacks in the second, while Wilin Rosario followed with a three-run shot in the third. Cain ended up striking out six and walking two. Tonight was a setback as far as his ERA is concerned, but only a little one.

Matt Cain won his second straight start by holding the Braves to two runs and three hits over eight innings on Friday.
After going 0-2 with a 6.49 ERA in April, Cain has opened May by allowing three runs and eight hits over 15 1/3 innings. He has a tough start against the Rockies at Coors Field up next, but he's typically pitched well there in his career (5-3, 4.11 ERA in 11 starts).

Matt Cain allowed just one run on five hits over 7 1/3 innings in Sunday night's win over the Dodgers.
It was a much needed win for Cain, who had allowed a combined 14 runs in his last three starts. He likely wouldn't have given up any runs if he had stayed in the game, but the Giants' bullpen collapsed in the eighth inning to cost him the inherited run. Cain had three walks on the night and finished with four strikeouts. His next start will come Friday against the Braves.

Matt Cain served up three homers in one inning but survived to take a no-decision in Monday's 6-4 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Cain walked four on the night, but he struck out six and was pretty effective outside of a horrible fourth inning. The right-hander has now given up nine homers in 34 2/3 innings this season and has a 6.49 ERA and 1.30 WHIP for the year. We see no reason Cain won't turn it around, though, and he should be in fantasy lineups this weekend against the Dodgers.

Abreu began the season on the disabled list with a strained quad. The 28-year-old could serve as a utility infielder with the big club once he's back to full health.
